The Aromatherapy Trade Council (ATC) is the trade association and lead body for the specialist aromatherapy essential oil trade, and represents manufacturers and suppliers of essential oil and aromatherapy products as well as the interest of consumers in the United Kingdom.

As an independent and self-regulating trade body ATC has established guidelines for safety, labelling, packaging and marketing, enshrined within a Code of Practice, to define and maintain standards within our industry.

ATC acts as a focal point for public and media enquiries in the sector, providing unbiased, authoritative, scientifically relevant advice and is recognised by regulators and enforcement
authorities in the UK and internationally. In its role as Advertising Code Administrator appointed by MHRA, the UK medicines regulator, ATC provides market surveillance and offers advice to members and the public on regulatory compliance and best practice.

Having established its position as the UK authoritative body for the aromatherapy essential oil industry both at home and abroad, ATC is committed to promoting high standards in the presentation and supply of essential oils and aromatherapy products and its future work will continue to address these issues.
